About the role

Job Description

To provide 1:1 support to
a fun, friendly and sociable 10-year-old boy who has Duchenne muscular
dystrophy and autism.
I am a little comedian who loves to joke around
and have lots of fun and I can be a little bit cheeky. My favourite thing to
do is go to the cinema and have a McDonalds. I also like to visit the hobby
craft shop because I am into arts and crafts.
I love anything to do with the Titanic and I like
animals particularly giraffes and police dogs.
I require the use of my wheelchair which I have
fantastic control over and can zoom around in it quite easily.
I am looking for a friendly,
reliable, and caring person who I can have lots of fun with.

Hourly Rate £12.50 Per
Hour

Duties (day to day)

Provide 1:1
support.

To provide support and encouragement with all aspects of personal
care.

Support to participate in activities that I enjoy and help me to
discover new ones.

Support to access the wider community and possibly explore new
environments.
Help to keep me safe whilst out and about.

Essential skills

You must be friendly, empathetic,
and enthusiastic about caring for others.

Ideally have experience of supporting
children/young people with additional needs.

Willingness to build up and develop positive
relationships.
Be patient, kind and trustworthy.

Have good communication skills and the ability to
be punctual and reliable.
Ability to be creative and use your own
initiative.

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences;
this cost will be met by the employer
